In Bloom

In bloom in the garden right now, after being in Toronto last weekend I realize how far ahead our gardens are on the coast. Spent the weekend planting tomato's, potatoes, cucumbers and more + flowers of course....

And painting of course! Top painting a bouquet, second a pattern which do you prefer?For illustration Friday universe....a big stretch....flowers are the universal messenger of love and affection?

Picking the first of the sweet peas, Icelandic poppies and peonies. Not sure of the name of the pink round flowers? They have a lovely scent.

Spring Voyage of Peonies & Euphorbia

 Peonies & Euphorbia spring passages. Happy Mothers Day! Was nice to hear from both my children today and have one over for dinner. Flowers below for the Seasonal Flower Alliance challenge in bloom this week lilac, euphorbia (my favourite) last of the tulips, bracken and 2 beautiful tree peony bloom from my friend Susan's garden! The inspiration for the painting.

a challenge that I am aspiring to take up with the added challenge of painting some part of the bouquet each week!

Seasonal flowers from the garden, tulips, bluebells, cornflower, hard geranium, nine bark, nodding onion and my fave euphorbia (the deer don't eat it!!!!)

Poppy Play

New prints from the poppy watercolors, still caught up with these! Pillows to come, the fabric turned out luscious just been so busy at work and gardening that the pillows haven't sewn themselves :)

Spring Layers

 Finally a bit of painting time...the garden is wild, cold, tangled and demanding!

Greenhouse full of babies much work to get to but making time for a little painting feels good :)

Which do you prefer? I'm loving the twisted blooms of the forsythia.

Seeing Red

Red leaves/ Pink Blossoms, the wild plum is in bloom and petals are in the air.

Intimate

The bee's intimate close up taste of early spring. Crocus were lovely till heavy rain :( over and done with, they are so fragile. Other flowers are fast emerging though and shrubs are leafing out, the birds are all a twitter.....

Spark and Shine

There is some sparkly magic in the air, with a little bit falling down for Mr Bear and his friends.

A stretch.... snowing here, we were all ready for spring.

There is a garden hiding under there, we have been out shaking off the snow many times during the day, that's bamboo on the left 20' pulled down laden with wet snow.
