Slow start to the day

Ever have one of those mornings when nothing starts of quite right?

I think this little character is having one of those days a very slow start on a wet morning. It will get better :) Inspired by illustration friday challenge slow....
Which one do you like best? I had fun adding the rain :) Trying to put together a portfolio for children's illustrations to send to publishers which images should I include? Any suggestions and feedback would be appreciated!

Silence? For the moment

Sometimes when they are quiet you can be delighted, other times you need to see what mischief they are getting into!
I love seeing children happy in quiet creative concentration, knowing how to hold a book and a pencil with confidence.
I have been away from painting for almost a month, feeling rusty. It is a practice.... we have had wonderful visits with family from as far away as Australia and as close as up the island. Wonderful to catch up but very busy!
These quick watercolours are in response to Illustration Friday challenge silence.

Seaweed Pattern

Seaweed Pattern, weekly flowers busy summer days.....

Flowers for the Seasonal Alliance the garden is blooming, next year (as all gardeners say) soaker hoses and a timer, it has been a marathon task to try to keep up. It has been a summer of swimming and visitors (more to come) and work. Never enough hours in the day!
We had jellyfish in our bay the other day and friends of our daughters staying who swam into them, no stings. Saw them later on the beach expired but inspiration for Illustration Friday skull, thought of skeleton of a jellyfish?
From above buckets of bouquets ready for the market.
